 Srigiri Devasthanam  Ongole Celebrates Legacy of Founder Aluru Venkata Ramana Rao

[ Jan25,2025] - Srigiri, Ongole, recently held a commemorative event honoring the life and contributions of Sri Aluru Venkata Ramana Rao, the visionary founder of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple on Ongole hill.  The event included the unveiling of his statue and a cultural program.

A bronze statue of Sri Aluru Venkata Ramana Rao was unveiled by Veda pandits and Vaikhanasa Ruthviks.  Dignitaries present included Dr. Justice KG Shankar (Retired High Court Judge, AP), Sri Damcharla Janardhan (MLA, Ongole), and Sri Suryaprakasa Rao (Retired IPS, Former Inspector General of Police, AP).  They have paid their respects to Sri Ramana Rao by garlanding the statue.  

Justice KG Shankar spoke of Sri Ramana Rao's enduring legacy in religion, spirituality, and social service.  MLA Janardhan emphasized that the statue serves as a reminder of his invaluable contributions to the community and the temple.  Sri Suryaprakash recalled his memories from the temple's inauguration in 1997 and acknowledged the timely discipline maintained under Sri Ramana Rao's chairmanship.

A commemorative meeting was held where speakers highlighted Sri Ramana Rao's vision and dedication in establishing the Srigiri temple.  Family members, Neeraja Transports, Srigiri family, friends and devotees including his children  Sri Aluru Srinivasa Charan Rajiv and Sri Aluru Jai Sankar, were present in the occasion.  In the evening, a "Vakularadhana" program dedicated to Aluru Sitaramma (Trustee's mother) was conducted, emphasizing the importance of the mother goddess.  The day concluded with a captivating musical performance, "Sangeeta Geya Dhara," led by Dr. V.B. Sai Krishna Yachendra.
